About
"You're five foot nothing. A hundred and nothing. And you've got hardly a speck of athletic ability. You hung in with the best college football team in the land for two years. And you're gonna walk out of here with a degree from Notre Dame. In this life you don't have to prove nothing to nobody except yourself. And after what you've gone through, if you haven't done that by now...it ain't gonna never happen." - from Rudy

Marilyn Hotchkiss on DVD
Filed under: Film — Chelle @ 10:22 pm

DVD Dossier reports that the DVD release date for Marilyn Hotchkiss’ Ballroom Dancing and Charm School will be July 4th.

The film tells the story of Frank Keane (Robert Carlyle), a widowed man consumed by his wife’s death. But Frank’s entire life changes when he pulls over on a rural highway to help a dying stranger (John Goodman) entangled in a car wreck.

En route to fulfill a forty-year promise to his childhood sweetheart, the stranger shares a compelling tale of adolescent love replete with first kisses, youthful innocence and ballroom dancing.

Frank promises to fulfill the stranger’s wish and finds himself at the doorsteps of the Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing & Charm School. It is here that he finds an odd path to a new beginning when he meets Meredith (Marisa Tomei) and the infectious world of dance, which allow his heart to open up and find love again.

In addition to Carlyle, Tomei and Goodman, the all-star cast includes Mary Steenburgen, Sean Astin, Donnie Whalberg, Camryn Manheim, Adam Arkin and Danny DeVito.
